I live in St. Louis with my wife and our young son and daughter. My 25-year career has been a mix of agency content and brand strategy work, publishing, media, and nonprofit comms and marketing. I’ve kept a website like this for a 15 years or so, mainly as a public notebook of cultural items that have interested me.

I’m currently a Senior Director of Content Strategy for The Stoke Group. Our fully remote digital marketing and content agency, which has a core team in Utah’s Silicon Slopes, crafts smart, good-looking content for global brands including Adobe, Zuora, VMWare, Momentive, and Pearson.

Prior roles include Vice President of Communications & Marketing for Forest Park Forever, Senior Strategist & Content Director for TOKY, and Editor-in-Chief of St. Louis Magazine.

I’m a graduate of Marquette University (BA in English), Northwestern University (MA in Liberal Studies) and the nine-month Leadership St. Louis program (2018-19) within FOCUS St. Louis.

In addition to decades of non-bylined communications work for organizations and companies, I’ve edited four books and published hundreds of profiles, essays, interviews, and reviews.
