I live in St. Louis with my wife and our young son and daughter. My 25-year career has been a mix of publishing, media, agency content and branding work, and nonprofit comms and marketing.

I’m currently a Senior Director of Content Strategy for The Stoke Group. Our fully remote digital marketing and content agency, which has a core team in Utah’s Silicon Slopes, crafts smart, good-looking content for global brands including Adobe, VMWare, Momentive, and Pearson.

Prior roles include Vice President of Communications & Marketing for Forest Park Forever, Senior Strategist & Content Director for TOKY, and Editor-in-Chief of St. Louis Magazine.

I’m a graduate of Marquette University (BA in English), Northwestern University (MA in Liberal Studies) and the nine-month Leadership St. Louis program (2018-19) within FOCUS St. Louis.

In addition to decades of non-bylined communications work for organizations and companies, I’ve published hundreds of profiles, essays, interviews, and reviews in publications including St. Louis Magazine, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, The Believer, and PlaybackSTL, where I edited the books section. I’m the editor of four books, including this one hand-delivered to President Clinton by Washington University in St. Louis’s former Chancellor.
