About
I live in St. Louis with my wife and our son and daughter. I’ve kept a website like this for a few decades, mainly as a public notebook of cultural items that have interested me. (I once read someone refer to this practice as keeping notes with the garage door open; I like that.)My nearly 30-year career has been a mix of purpose-driven strategic communications, publishing and media, and agency work in the branding and content space. (Here are a few projects along the way.) I’m currently the Director of Strategic Communications & Brand for The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital, one of the largest foundations in the region supporting some of the region’s top health care organizations. Prior roles include VP of Strategy, Editorial & Marketing Services for The Stoke Group, VP of Communications & Marketing for Forest Park Forever, Senior Strategist & Content Director for TOKY, and Editor-in-Chief of St. Louis Magazine.
In addition to decades of non-bylined communications work for organizations and companies, I’ve edited four books and published hundreds of profiles, articles, essays, interviews, and reviews for a variety of publications.
